Man charged after tenant reports being threatened with a knife

The two individuals involved were known to each other and the tenant was not hurt

At approximately 4:45 p.m. on Dec. 4, (it is alleged that) a male entered a room at an Elizabeth Street residence and confronted the tenant there with a knife as he demanded money that was owed. The two were known to each other and the tenant was not hurt but called the police after the male left. The male in question was arrested a short time later.

Alfredo Hernandez, a 51-year-old Guelph man was charged with possession of a weapon dangerous to the public peace and utter threats. He was later released to appear in court at a later date.
