A Guelph male is facing weapons charges after he was observed inside a north end business Tuesday acting erratically and holding a knife.
Guelph police report they were called to a business on Speedvale Avenue East near Stevenson Street North about 7 p.m. The male was inside the business holding a knife while yelling and banging on things.
Officers arrived a short time later and arrested the male. A search of his person revealed a silver knife with a 15-centimetre blade as well as a hatchet wrapped in a cloth.
A 38-year-old male is charged with carrying a concealed weapon, possessing a weapon for a dangerous purpose, breach of probation and failing to comply with an undertaking. He will appear in a Guelph court June 18.
