A Guelph male faces robbery and assault charges after a female reportedly had her purse stolen Saturday afternoon. The parties are known to each other.
Approximately 3:40 p.m. officers were called to a residence in the west end. An adult female reported she had just arrived home when a male approached her outside the residence and punched her in the face. She was knocked to the ground and her purse was allegedly stolen. The victim sustained injuries to her face, knees and ankle but did not seek medical attention.
The male was located nearby a short time later and arrested. A 30-year-old male is charged with robbery and assault. He will appear in a Guelph bail court Monday.
