Man pulls knife and threatens to stab downtown mall employee

Police recognized the male on video but are still looking for him

Guelph police are investigating after an employee at the Old Quebec Street Shoppes downtown had a knife pulled on him Wednesday.

Shortly after 8 a.m. two males were observed on camera inside the mall and one was seen writing on a wall with a marker. A mall employee approached the pair and after a brief interaction one of the males removed a knife from his pocket and began waving it around while threatening to stab the employee.

Both males left the mall and were seen walking southbound on Wyndham Street North. Officers recognized the males from surveillance video but were not able to locate them. The investigation is ongoing.
