Man wanted in two break-ins arrested downtown

A Guelph man wanted in connection with two recent commercial break and enters was arrested Tuesday night.

Approximately 11:40 a.m. officers were speaking with an intoxicated man at Wyndham Street North and Macdonell Street. Investigation revealed he was wanted for the recent break-ins caught on camera.

Shortly before 4 a.m. Sept. 19, a man attended a business on Edinburgh Road North and used a wooden two-by-four to smash a glass door. Nothing was stolen but the damage cost $559 to repair.

Approximately 9 a.m. Sept. 23, a male entered a downtown business by prying open the front door with a screwdriver. He fled without taking anything after an audible alarm sounded.

A 34-year-old is charged with two counts of break and enter and possessing break-in tools. He will appear in court Nov. 14.
