Guelph Police Service dealt with 208 calls for service over the weekend

The following enws releases were issued today by the Guelph Police Service:

Transportation fraud - arrest
On April 21, 2019 at 10 p.m., the Guelph Police went to an Eramosa Road location to assist a cab driver with a fare. The female passenger had been driven to multiple locations but when asked to pay before being driven further, she (allegedly) refused. A second cab driver attended while police were enroute to ensure the safety of the first driver.

While waiting for police, the female passenger (allegedly) damage the door to the second cab. Police investigation determined that the female had no means to ever pay for her fare and she was arrested.

The 34-year-old Guelph woman has been charged with transportation fraud and mischief under $5,000.

Three arrested on warrants
A 35-year-old Guelph man arrested on a family court warrant for fail to attend. He will appear in court on May 16, 2019.

A 49-year-old Guelph man arrested on a warrant for fail to re-attend court. He was held in custody pending a bail hearing.

A 26-year-old Guelph female arrested on a warrant for theft under, escape lawful custody and breach probation. She will appear in court on May 21, 2019.  

Break and enter
On April 22, 2019, at approximately 3:44 a.m., the Guelph Police went a Preston Street residence for a break and enter. A resident was home sleeping but heard the basement door open. The culprit left when realizing the resident was home. The suspect is described as male, thin, 18-25 years of age; clean shaven and was wearing a baseball cap. No theft is reported.
