Guelph Police dealt with 564 calls for service over the weekend

The following news releases were issued today by the Guelph Police Service:

Police pursuit and arrest
On Feb. 2, 2019 at approximately 8:15 a.m., a Guelph Police officer was attempting to conduct a traffic stop on a beige Honda CVR on Quebec Street. As the officer was about to approach the vehicle it sped off. Police pursued the vehicle at low speeds as it was a busy time of day with significant traffic.

The vehicle was stopped and the driver, a 60-year-old Kitchener female, was arrested without incident near the downtown. Andrea Bowman will appear in court on March 19, 2019 to face charges that include flight from police, drive under suspension and possess licence while prohibited.

Break and enters
Sometime overnight on Feb. 1, 2019, a business on Wyndham Street North was broken into via the front door. A number of cell phones were taken.

Sometime overnight on Feb. 3, 2019, culprit(s) entered two apartment buildings on Silvercreek Parkway. A box that contained building keys was taken at one and at the second building, the dryers were damaged and coins were taken.

Super Bowl R.I.D.E. Program results
On Feb. 3, 2019, Guelph Police conducted R.I.D.E. at various locations around the city of Guelph. One thousand six-hundred cars were checked, 17 roadside tests were administered, and one three-day suspension was issued.

Calls for service
From Friday, Feb. 1, 2019 at 7 a.m., until Monday, Feb. 4, 2019 at 7 a.m., Guelph Police dealt with 564 calls for service.
