Just after midnight on May 6, a Wolfond Crescent resident’s home alarm alerted him to a male that had entered his home. When he confronted the male, the male turned and left the home.

Just after midnight on May 6, a Wolfond Crescent resident’s home alarm alerted him to a male that had entered his home. When he confronted the male, the male turned and left the home. Police were called and given a description of the male, who before he was located, entered a garage on Talbot Street and took a large hockey bag full of property. As police searched the area,  he was located walking on Dean Avenue with the hockey bag and was arrested.

A 35-year-old Guelph man was charged with two counts of break and enter, possession of stolen property and two counts of breach of probation. He was held in custody to appear in bail court.  

Female assaulted at downtown bar

On the evening of May 6, a female reported that she had been assaulted by another woman that was known to her in the washroom area of a downtown bar. During the assault, the victim had her extensions pulled out. Police were contacted to investigate and learned that a staff member witnessed the assault.

On May 7, 22-year-old Melody Davis of Guelph surrendered herself to police and was later released to appear in court on Jun. 13, 2017.

Disturbance arrest

Police were called shortly after 3 a.m. on May 7 to a disturbance at an Auden Road unit and arrived to find the glass of a front door smashed out. Police received a description of the responsible parties who were located a short distance away and arrested them for mischief.

Aaron Collins, a 27-year-old from Arthur and 28-year-old Addam Ogden of Guelph were later released to appear in court on Jun. 13, 2017.

Impaired driving arrests

A City of Guelph By-law Enforcement officer contacted police at approximately 3:55am on May 6th when a man was found unconscious behind the wheel of a Chevy Impala in a College Avenue parking lot. When police arrived and woke the man, there was reason to believe that he was under the influence of alcohol. The man was arrested for impaired care and control of a motor vehicle and he was transported to the station for addition tests that he did not pass.

Christopher Keith Massey, 32 years of age form Guelph was later released to appear before the court on May 19, 2017.

At approximately 12:20 a.m. on May 6, 2017 police observed a Ford Fusion driving erratically in the downtown core. The vehicle was stopped and investigation led to the arrest of the 33 male driver from Guelph for impaired driving. The male was transported to the station where he failed subsequent breath analysis tests.

John Doman is charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and drive a motor vehicle over .08mg. and was later released to appear in court on May 19, 2017.

Over the weekend the Guelph Police Service responded to 536 calls for service.
