Guelph Police dealt with 614 calls for service over the weekend

The following news release was issued today by the Guelph Police Service:

Dine and dash
On Nov. 2, 2018 at approximately 3:15 p.m., Guelph Police were called to a restaurant downtown in regard to a dine and dash. (It is alleged that) the male had ordered, ate the food, and told management he wasn’t paying for it and walked out.

Police were able to identify the male through video surveillance, and later in the evening, Police located the male and he was arrested.

Cody Smith, a 23-year-old Guelph male, was charged with fraudulently obtain food as well as breaching his Probation Order.

Smith appeared in court on Nov. 3, 2018.

From Friday, Nov. 2, 2018, at 6 a.m., until Monday, Nov. 5, 2018, at 6 a.m., Guelph Police dealt with 614 calls for service.
