Motorcycle operator airlifted to hospital following crash

Victim suffered 'life-altering' injuries, police say

On May 30, 2019 at 12:20 p.m., Guelph Police went to the intersection of Woodlawn Road West and Arrow Road for the report of a collision between a car and a motorcycle.

The 55-year-old male motorcycle rider suffered serious injuries and was air lifted to Hamilton General Hospital. The injuries are described as life-altering.

The 35-year-old female driver of the Corolla was treated at Guelph General Hospital and released.

Members of the Guelph Police Service Traffic and Forensic Identification Unit reconstructed the collision. Woodlawn Road between Silvercreek Parkway and Dawson Road was closed for a number of hours.

If there are any witnesses to the collision who have not spoken to police already, they are encouraged to contact the Traffic Unit at 519-824-1212 ext. 7514 and leave their contact information. The investigation is ongoing and charges are pending.

Police are commending the civilians who were first on scene and provided first aid to the injured motorcyclist.

Victim Services Wellington as well as members of IMPACT were on scene and provided emotional support to those who required their services. If any witnesses require further assistance they are asked to contact Guelph Police and arrangements will be made.
