New commander takes helm at Wellington County OPP detachment

COUNTY OF WELLINGTON - The Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is proud to introduce our new Detachment Commander Inspector Paul Richardson.

Inspector Richardson officially took over command of the Wellington County OPP Detachment on Aug. 5, 2020 after serving as the interim Detachment Commander here for approximately 10 months. 

Inspector Richardson has been a member of the OPP for 20 years and spent his entire career in Bruce County prior to coming to Wellington. He worked frontline policing as a constable and sergeant and spent a considerable amount of time patrolling the waters of Lake Huron as a member of the South Bruce Marine Unit as well as completed a secondment in the Crime Unit.

Inspector Richardson brings with him a wealth of policing experience and knowledge and we are pleased to welcome him to Wellington County.
