North York man driving stolen car accused of fraud in Guelph

Police were called to a financial institution to investigate possible fraudulent identification

On May 13, 2019 at 2:38 p.m., Guelph Police went to financial institution on Stone Road West for the report of a man possibly using fraudulent identification in an attempt to do a transaction. As police arrived, the man fled on foot. He was located a short distance away and arrested. Police investigation discovered that the man was in possession of identity cards that were not his and that he was in possession of a car reported stolen in Peel Region.

The 33-year-old North York man has been charged with identity fraud, two counts of possess identity document, two counts of utter forged document, unauthorized use of credit card, possess stolen property over and four counts of breach probation.

He was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
