Over 500 motorists were checked and nine roadside tests were conducted at the festive RIDE kickoff Saturday

Festive RIDE Kickoff

Members of the Guelph Police Service Traffic Unit participated in the Festive RIDE kickoff during the evening of Saturday, November 23, 2019.

Over 500 motorists were checked and nine roadside tests were conducted.

Five of those tests resulted in a three-day driver’s licence suspension being issued to the drivers who were found to have a BAC (blood alcohol content) between 50 mgs and 80 mgs of alcohol in 100 mls. of blood.

Drivers are reminded that having any alcohol in your system, when operating a motor vehicle is a bad idea. Think ahead and plan your way home.

With the holiday season upon us, RIDE programs will be running at various locations throughout the city.

Please drink responsibly and if you drink, don’t drive.
