'Novice driver' charged with impaired

TOWNSHIP OF GUELPH-ERAMOSA - On June 18, 2017 at approximately 8:15 a.m., the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Highway 7 near County Road 29.

While speaking with the male driver who was classified as a novice driver, the officer formed the opinion that he was under the influence of alcohol. He was transported to a local hospital for minor injuries.

Breath samples resulted in the driver, 20-year-old Robert Macmillan of Brampton, being charged with blood alcohol content above zero (B.A.C. above zero) as well as careless driving contrary to the Highway Traffic Act.
