Officers on foot patrol happen upon break and enter in progress

On Aug. 31, 2020 at approximately 10:05 p.m., Guelph Police were on foot patrol in Downtown Guelph when they came upon a business at the corner of MacDonell Street and Norfolk Street. Police discovered an audible alarm sounding and located a male inside the business. The male was placed under arrest for break and enter.

A search incident to arrest revealed the accused was in possession of 11 cheques stolen from a mailbox on Cork Street, Guelph.

It was further discovered that the male was wanted on an outstanding charge of transportation fraud.

A 38-year-old Guelph male has been charged with break and enter, possession of property obtained by crime and transportation fraud.

The accused is scheduled to appear in Guelph Court on Dec. 18, 2020.
