OPP say $500,000 worth of webcams stolen from area business

Police say a trailer was taken from a business on Whitelaw Road on Monday then unloaded in Waterloo

TOWNSHIP OF GUELPH-ERAMOSA – On Oct. 26, 2020 at approximately 10 a.m. members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a load theft incident that occurred at a business on Whitelaw Road in Guelph-Eramosa Township.

It was reported that on Oct. 26, 2020 at approximately 1 a.m. a light coloured sedan, similar to a Ford Focus was captured on video surveillance driving slowly past the business. Shortly thereafter a dark red or black tractor pulling the stolen trailer, loaded with $500,000 worth of webcams, was seen leaving the lot at a high rate of speed.

The empty stolen trailer was recovered on Columbia Street East in the Region of Waterloo later that afternoon at approximately 1:30 p.m.
