A Guelph female who refused to stop for police while driving with a wanted male in her car earlier this month has been arrested, Guelph police report.

On May 8, about 8:25 p.m., officers were on patrol on Fife Road when they saw a motor vehicle and believed the passenger was a wanted male. Officers activated their emergency lights but the motor vehicle did not stop. Officers pulled beside the vehicle and could see the male reclined in the passenger seat trying to hide.

Police discontinued the pursuit in the interest of public safety. The female driver sped down several residential streets and ran at least one stop sign as officers followed at a distance and eventually lost sight of the motor vehicle.

The involved female was located downtown Thursday about 11:30 p.m. and arrested.

A 28-year-old Guelph female is charged with dangerous operation, flight from police and stunt driving. She will appear in a Guelph court Aug. 13.
