Trespass at Guelph business quickly results in criminal charges

In the early afternoon hours of December 14, 2016 Guelph Police were called to a north-end business where staff had seen a man that they had previously banned from coming into the business.

Before police arrived, loss prevention staff continued to watch this male and another man that was with him. The two were then seen to take merchandise from the store and leave without paying.

Later in the afternoon one of the males was seen riding a bicycle near the Guelph Police station and was arrested. Further investigation revealed the bike had been reported stolen.

Shortly afterwards, the second man came into the station to enquire about his friend and he too was arrested. When being searched he was found in possession of crystal methamphetamine.

Two Guelph men will appear in bail court today both charged with theft, possession of stolen property, drug and breach of court order offences.
