Police arrest two people during break and enter in progress

Multiple officers quickly attended the scene and located two females located inside a closed business in the south end of the city

On the morning of Aug. 1, 2019, police received information about a break and enter in progress at a closed business in the south end of the city. Multiple officers quickly attended the scene and located two females inside the business, who were subsequently arrested. A search incident to arrest revealed one female was in possession of an expandable baton, and break and enter tools. The other female also falsely identified herself to police.

A 30 year old Guelph female has been charged with:

  • Break, Enter with Intent
  • Public Mischief 
  • Acknowledging Instrument in False Name
  • Personation
  • Theft under $5,000 (Charge in relation to an unrelated previous incident)
  • Obstruct Police (Charge in relation to an unrelated previous incident)
  • Fail to Attend (Charge in relation to an unrelated previous incident)                                             

A 29 year old Guelph female has been charged with:

  • Break and Enter With Intent
  • Possession of Break and Enter Instruments
  • Breach Probation x2
  • Breach Recognizance

Both females will appear in court on Aug. 2, 2019.
