Police called about man sleeping in stolen car

He was arrested and after a brief foot pursuit, a woman was also arrested

On July 15, 2018 at approximately 10:04 a.m., Guelph Police were called to the parking lot of the Willow West Mall in regard to a male who appeared to be sleeping in a vehicle. As police attended to the location, it was learned that the vehicle was stolen.

Police arrived on scene and located two parties walking away from the vehicle. A male party was arrested and after a brief foot pursuit, a female was also arrested.

A 44-year-old Guelph male was charged with possession of stolen property over $5,000, mischief over $5,000 and breaching his Probation Order.

A 28-year-old Guelph female was arrested for possession of stolen property over $5,000 and mischief over $5,000. They are both set to appear in court on July 16, 2018.
