A Guelph male who allegedly twice broke into the parking garage of a downtown apartment building and stole bicycles has been arrested.

On June 18, approximately 10:25 a.m. the male entered the parking garage and stole a bicycle which was stored in the garage. Five days later the same male returned to the building at approximately 12:40 a.m. and used a screwdriver to pry open a door. He went to the parking garage where he cut a lock to steal one bicycle and also located and stole another bicycle.

The male was caught on security video riding one bicycle while carrying the second. He was located by Guelph police Thursday evening at a residence in the area of Gordon Street and Forbes Avenue and arrested.

A 36-year-old Guelph male is charged with break and enter, theft under $5,000, mischief under $5,000, breach of probation and failing to appear in court. He was held for a bail hearing Friday.
