A Guelph police canine unit was used Friday night to find a man hiding inside a closed business.

Approximately 11 p.m. Friday, staff of a business on Woodlawn Road West called to report a man had entered via an unlocked door. The business was closed at the time but staff were on scene practising fire drills. The man refused to leave and began hiding inside the business.

Approximately one hour after entering the store the man was located by police service dog Echo and arrested. A 31-year-old Guelph man is charged with break and enter. He was held for a bail hearing Monday.
