Police Dog General tracks down wanted Guelph man

Suspect fled on foot when officers attempted to arrest him

On Nov. 12, 2019, at 2:20 p.m., an officer of the Guelph Police Service observed an adult male who was wanted on a warrant, walking with a female on Woolwich Street in the City of Guelph.

The officer attempted to arrest him, but he fled on foot. Police Dog General was called in and tracked the suspect. General located the suspect hiding in a nearby business.

A 29-year-old Guelph male was arrested on the strength of the warrant.

The male was further charged with two counts of breach probation as the male was not to be around the female he was walking with, and was also charged with obstruct police.

He was held in custody pending a bail hearing on Nov. 13, 2019.
