Recent reports of a naked man are no longer confined to a west-end park.

Police released information Tuesday about four such incidents involving a naked man approaching women at Margaret Greene Park, on Westwood Road, in the past week. The department is now saying similar situations have played out at Exhibition and Riverside parks as well.

At about 9 a.m. on Tuesday, police were called about a naked male near the pedestrian bridge at Riverside Park. A male reported yelling at the naked fellow, who quickly put his shorts on and left the area.

However, a Guelph Police Service news release states a female told police the naked man looked at her and made a “vulgar gesture” before putting his shorts on and leaving.

Between 9:30 and 10 a.m. on Sunday, a female walking in Exhibition Park reported seeing a nude man sitting on a bench close to London Road. When he saw her looking at him, the man put on a tank top and walked away.

The suspect was seen getting into a newer model, silver Toyota minivan and driving northbound on Exhibition Street.

A female also notified police she was walking through Exhibition Park at about 9 a.m. on Aug. 11 when she saw a nude male sitting on a bench near London Road. The female turned and walked the other way, and the male left the area.

The suspect in all seven incidents is described as an Asian male in his 30s, between 5’ 7” and 5’ 10” tall, with short, dark hair and a heavy build.

Anyone with information about the incidents is asked to call Det. Const. Dave Gamsby of the Guelph Police Service Special Victims Unit at 519-824-1212 ext. 7505 or email him at dgamsby@guelphpolice.ca.
