NEWS RELEASE

On Nov. 12, 2018 at approximately 10 p.m., Guelph Police were called to an apartment complex on Gordon Street in regard to a confrontation.

When police arrived, it was learned that a male had (an alleged) sex trade worker attend to his residence. Services that were agreed upon were not performed, and another male attended to the apartment complex and a confrontation ensued between the three parties.

The male who (had allegedly) hired the sex trade worker sustained minor injuries and did not require medical attention. The sex trade worker and the other male left the area prior to police arrival.

The Guelph Police would like to remind the public it is illegal to purchase sexual services. Also, for your safety, incidents like this do occur where arrangements are made and your money is taken without the services being performed.

This is planned and your safety is jeopardized. The Guelph Police can’t stress enough the dangers of the sex trade, both for the worker and the client.
