Guelph police responded to 11 collisions during Wednesday’s storm, with no serious injuries reported.

The first was reported approximately 12:40 p.m., when police were called to a business on Woodlawn Road West. A car had left the road and collided with a pole.

Another car-versus-pole collision was reported approximately 5:45 p.m. on Clair Road East. A vehicle left the road and collided with a hydro pole, which was damaged and left leaning over the road. Clair Road East was closed for a couple of hours while the pole was removed. The driver sustained a minor head injury and was transported to hospital for assessment.

More snow is expected Thursday afternoon and evening and police encourage motorists to stay off the roads if possible and drive according to weather conditions if you must venture out.
