A Guelph male was arrested Tuesday after another male was allegedly assaulted with an angle grinder.
Just after 7 a.m., the Guelph police were notified of a disturbance at a residence in the area of Victoria Road South and Arkell Road. Investigation revealed one male was sleeping when he was awakened by another male using a grinder in the basement. The victim yelled for the male to stop, prompting a confrontation during which the victim sustained lacerations to his hands and legs.
The adult male victim was taken to hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
A 26-year-old Guelph male is charged with assault with a weapon. He will appear in a Guelph court March 8.
