Guelph police report an investigation into alleged harassing emails led to weapons charges against a Guelph male Wednesday.

On Tuesday, staff of a local law firm contacted police to report one of their lawyers receiving unwanted emails. The emails included images and videos of a male posing with various weapons.

Through subsequent investigation the identity of the male was confirmed and it was learned he is bound by a court order prohibiting him from possessing weapons.

On Wednesday, police executed a search warrant at a Westwood Road residence. Items seized include an Uzi-style BB gun, Glock-style BB gun, three rounds of .22-calibre ammunition and a spring-loaded knife.

A 30-year-old Guelph male is charged with possessing a weapon contrary to a prohibition order and knowledge of unauthorized possession of a weapon. He will appear in a Guelph bail court Thursday.
