Police say Toyota, Audi were going way too fast

CITY OF GUELPH - On Feb. 22, 2017 at approximately 2:20 p.m., a Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer was monitoring traffic on Highway 6 south of Laird Road, Guelph.  

The officer observed a female driving a 2013 Toyota at a speed well above the posted speed limit. The vehicle was locked on radar at approximately 132 km/h in an 80 km/h zone.

24-year-old Amanpreet Thiar of Milton has been charged with Race a Motor Vehicle contrary to the Highway Traffic Act and will appear in Guelph Provincial Court on Mar. 15, 2017. Her driver's licence and vehicle were seized for a period of 7 days as per statute.

The officer observed a male driving a 2017 Audi travelling at a speed that appeared to be well above the posted speed limit. The vehicle was locked on radar at approximately 132 km/h in an 80 km/h zone.

20-year-old Hao Meng of Guelph has been charged with Race a Motor Vehicle contrary to the Highway Traffic Act and will appear in Guelph Provincial Court on Mar. 15, 2017.  His driver's licence and vehicle were seized for a period of 7 days as per statute.
