Police search for suspicious man after young boy asked to get into truck

On March 26, 2020 just before 12:34 p.m., a 12-year-old boy was out front of his residence located near the intersection of Dublin Street North and Paisley Street in the City of Guelph when an older model dirty black pickup truck stopped beside him. The male driver, who was the lone occupant of the vehicle, asked where Essex Street is and when the boy responded that he didn’t know, the male asked the boy to get in the vehicle. The boy ran inside his residence, told his father and the Guelph Police Service was notified. The vehicle was last seen near the intersection of Dublin Street North and London Road West.

Officers attended the scene but were unable to locate the male or the vehicle.

The male is described:
    •    Caucasian
    •    30 years old
    •    Short grey hair
    •    No facial hair
    •    No accent
    •    No visible tattoos or piercings
    •    Wearing a dark shirt, possibly a sweater
