A Puslinch man was arrested Wednesday in relation to several recent crimes in Guelph.

On Feb. 20, just before 1 a.m., a man attended a business on Southgate Drive and used a crowbar in an attempt to force open a secure door. He also attempted to remove a coin machine from a wall but was not successful. The incident was captured on video.

On March 11, staff of a west end business reported the theft of more than $500 worth of alcohol. A man entered the business, selected eight bottles of alcohol and walked out. The man was later identified through surveillance video.

On March 20, a man was arrested on an unrelated matter and was found to be in possession of a wallet containing cards and documents in someone else’s name. Investigation revealed the wallet had been stolen from a vehicle a few days earlier and a debit card inside used to make three purchases. Officers attended the businesses where the card was used and identified a suspect via security video.

A 30-year-old Puslinch man was located in Downtown Guelph Wednesday and is charged with attempted break and enter, possessing break-in instruments, theft under $5,000 and three counts of fraud under $5,000.

He will appear in a Guelph bail court Thursday.
