Guelph police received confirmation Tuesday afternoon that human remains discovered in a park about two weeks ago belong to Charles Rudd, who was reported missing on Dec. 17.
Following Rudd’s disappearance, police issued multiple pleas for public assistance in finding him.
Scott Tracey, spokesperson for Guelph Police Service, explained police were called to a “remote area” of a local park after a nearby resident came across human remains on Feb. 15. Those remains were then sent to the Centre for Forensic Science in Toronto for identification.
Police will not be releasing the cause of death, Tracey noted, adding foul play is not suspected.
