A St. Thomas man faces an assault charge after another motorist reported someone spitting in his face during a driving dispute.

On Feb. 19 Guelph police report that a Kitchener man was driving on Wellington Street West when another driver reportedly cut him off and applied his brakes several times for no reason. The two drivers stopped beside each other at a red light at Edinburgh Road and became involved in a verbal altercation. The suspect exited his vehicle and allegedly spit in the face of the victim before driving off.

The victim was able to get a photo of the other man’s licence plate.

On Wednesday a 37-year-old St. Thomas man turned himself in and was arrested for assault.
