A 47-year-old Guelph man is the second person charged in relation to a Guelph Police bike patrol drug seizure last month.
According to a police news release, bicycle patrol officers spotted two men standing near a motor vehicle on the morning of July 28 and recognized one of them as being bound by a 24-hour house arrest bail condition.
When officers turned around to speak with the men, one of them quickly walked off.
The remaining male was arrested for breaching his bail condition. A search of the male revealed more than $9,000 in cash. A search of the motor vehicle uncovered quantities of crystal methamphetamine, red fentanyl and various other controlled substances with a total value of about $7,000, as well as a functioning digital scale and drug packaging.
A 57-year-old Guelph man faces five counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking and five counts of failing to comply with a release order. He was held for a bail hearing and remains in custody.
On Monday evening, the second male was located at an address in the area of College Avenue West and Vanier Drive. A 47-year-old male is charged with five counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking.
