Second man arrested in repeated downtown break-ins

Police have arrested a second person in relation to repeated break-ins at a downtown-area apartment building.

Officers responded to the Gordon Street building, near James Street, on Monday morning. Surveillance video showed three males entering the building’s workshop late Sunday and early Monday, ultimately leaving with a quantity of tools, explains a Guelph police news release.

One of the suspects was located downtown on Monday and arrested. A subsequent search reportedly turned up some of the stolen property.

A 30-year-old Guelph man is charged with break and enter, theft under $5,000 and possessing stolen property.

On Tuesday, a second suspect was found downtown and arrested. A 49-year-old man is charged with break and enter.
