A serious collision has closed part of a major downtown intersection.

The incident happened around 8 p.m. Thursday night at the intersection of Wellington Street and Gordon Street and involved a four-door sedan and a three-wheel trike-style motorcycle, which has two wheels at the back and one at the front.

The trike appeared to hit the passenger side of the car.

The extent of any injuries was not immediately known.

As of 10 p.m. police were still on the scene investigating and the westbound lanes of Wellington Street and northbound lanes of Gordon Street were closed to traffic.
