Shoplifting suspect tells security he has a knife before fleeing scene

On Feb. 7, 2020 at 3:34 p.m., members of the Guelph Police Service were dispatched to a store located near the intersection of Woodlawn Road West and Woolwich Street in the City of Guelph. Loss prevention officers from the store confronted an adult male in the parking lot who had just shoplifted $820.56 worth of merchandise. After being confronted, the male told the loss prevention officers that he had a knife and ran away.

Police attended the scene but were unable to locate the male.

The male is described as:
    •    Caucasian
    •    50s or 60s
    •    Slim build
    •    Wearing a yellow and black snowmobile jacket with black and white checkers, a grey hoodie and blue jeans

An adult female was also observed entering the store with the male. She is described as:
    •    Caucasian
    •    30s or 40s
    •    Long brown hair tied back in a ponytail
    •    Wearing sunglasses, red knee-length jacket with fur around the hood, black pants, and white sneakers
