Sixth arrest made in Project Hammer

A 19-year-old Guelph woman is the sixth person arrested in the ongoing drug investigation

A sixth person has been arrested in an ongoing drug trafficking investigation, Guelph police report.

During the 10-month investigation dubbed Project Hammer, undercover officers purchased more than three kilograms of cocaine and significant amounts of MDMA and psilocybin. Search warrants were executed earlier this month at addresses in Toronto and Guelph, resulting in the recovery of more than two kilograms of suspected cocaine and large quantities of suspected psilocybin, MDMA, LSD tablets and Oxycodone pills. Also recovered was more than $236,000 in cash and a loaded handgun.  

Three Guelph males as well as a male and female from Toronto were previously arrested.

On Thursday, a 19-year-old Guelph woman was located downtown and arrested. She is charged with five counts of trafficking a controlled substance.

The investigation is ongoing.
