A Guelph man is charged with uttering threats following an incident at a downtown social service agency office on Thursday.

Police were called to the agency shortly before noon, after it was reported a man had smashed several items in the facility and threatened an employee before leaving on foot.

A suspect was located a short distance away and arrested, notes a police news release.
