Stolen pickup involved in hit and run

Guelph police are investigating after a stolen pickup was involved in a minor hit and run Monday evening.

Police report that at approximately 7:40 p.m. an officer saw a pickup run a red light at Woolwich Street and Speedvale Avenue East. The officer did not pursue the truck, which was last seen northbound on Woolwich Street.

Moments later, police received a report of a minor collision at Woolwich Street and Woodlawn Road East. The caller advised she was stopped at a red light when a pickup passed very closely, clipping her vehicle before proceeding through the red light on to Highway 6. The pickup was later determined to have been stolen from an address in Mapleton earlier in the day.
