Stolen truck investigation results in numerous charges

Sometime over the night of July 27, 2019, a black Ford 150 was stolen from the driveway of a residence on the south end of the city.

On the afternoon of July 28, 2019, reports from concerned citizens regarding the erratic driving of a black Ford 150 lead police to the stolen motor vehicle. The driver and passenger were subsequently arrested and a search revealed a small quantity of crystal methamphetamine.

A 30-year-old Guelph male and 21-year-old Guelph female were charged with:
    •    possess stolen property over $5,000 sec 354(1)(a) C.C.
    •    occupant of stolen motor vehicle 335(1) C.C.

The male was also charged with:
    •    dangerous operation conveyance sec 320.13(1) C.C.
    •    operate while prohibited sec 320.18(1) C.C
    •    impaired operation conveyance by Drug sec 320.14(1)(a) C.C.
    •    breach probation x2 sec 733.1(1) C.C.
    •    posses controlled substance sec 4(1) C.D.S.A.

The male will appear in court on July 29, 2019.

The female will appear in court on Sept. 10, 2019.

The Guelph Police Service reminds the community to be vigilant in not leaving their keys inside their vehicle, and both locking and monitoring their vehicles.
