Store employees detain shoplifting suspect in Fergus

TOWNSHIP OF CENTRE WELLINGTON - On Oct. 11, 2020 at approximately 12:30 p.m., Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a business located on Tower Street in Fergus.

It was reported that employees at the business were detaining a suspect for shoplifting.

The goods stolen totalled just over $150 and were returned to the business.

Jessica Elizabeth Tremble, 29 years old of Fergus, has been charged with theft under $5,000 contrary to the Criminal Code. The accused is scheduled to appear in Guelph at the Ontario Court of Justice on Nov. 13, 2020 to answer to the charge.

OPP would like to remind everyone to that we all lose when someone steals. Whether it's through increased service charges or prices, we all pay the price.
