Two arrested on outstanding warrants

The following news release was issued Sunday by the Guelph Police Service:

Arrested on warrant
On June 15, 2019, a 44-year-old Guelph male was arrested on the strength of a bench warrant for failing to attend his scheduled court appearance back in May, 2019. He was released on a Promise to Appear with a new court date of July 23, 2019.

On June 15, 2019, at approximately 11:38 p.m., a 25-year-old Guelph male who was wanted on a bench warrant was observed by Police in a hallway of a residential dwelling on Carden Street.

The accused was advised to stop as there was a warrant for his arrest, however the accused attempted to escape through the fire escape emergency exit to flee from Police. Police were able to locate the male and he was subsequently placed under arrest at 11:40 p.m. The accused was further held for a bail hearing at the Guelph Police Service.
