On the evening of Aug. 28, the property owner of a Waterloo Avenue building discovered a male in the basement area that had (allegedly) broken into the building. (It is alleged) the male assaulted the owner and fled on foot. Fortunately the owner was not hurt and investigation was able to identify the male.
The suspect is a 34-year-old Guelph man who was located in the early evening hours of Aug. 31 and arrested. He is charged with break and enter, assault and three counts of breach of probation and will appear in bail court today.
