Suspect sought after stabbing on University of Guelph campus

Police say the stabbing occurred after 5 p.m. on a trail at the Arboretum; the victim sustained a minor stab wound to his arm

The Guelph Police Service is investigating a stabbing that occurred Monday evening on the University of Guelph campus.

Police were called just after 5 p.m. for an assault, which took place on a trail at the Arboretum. The victim sustained a minor stab wound to his arm. The assault appears to have been unprovoked.

The suspect fled on foot, but appeared to be intoxicated. He was described as:

  • having brown skin
  • 18 to 20 years old
  • 5’8” to 5’10”
  • with a thin build
  • medium-length dark hair 
  • slight beard

He was wearing a dark hoodie, light pants, a backpack and prescription glasses. He possibly sustained an injury to his face.
