TOWN OF ERIN - During the early morning of Tuesday, June 20, 2017, a small group of suspects believed to be all males in their late teens, removed a statue of a horse from McMullan Park in Erin. They placed the horse statue on the roof of a small hatchback car believed to have a sunroof.

The suspects drove approximately one kilometre to Erin District High School and entered the rear parking lot behind the school. The suspects then hoisted the horse up to the roof of the high school using ropes.

The horse was placed over top of the front entrance at the school enabling staff and students to have a clear view of it later that morning.

The youths responsible have been identified and been diverted according to the Youth Criminal Justice Act. The horse was repaired and returned. All parties involved are satisfied that this was no more than a prank and these youths are not responsible for other mischiefs occurring in Erin.

Police would like to thank the public for their assistance in this matter.
