A 14-year-old girl has undergone surgery and continues to recover in a Hamilton hospital following a multi-vehicle collision Saturday evening.

Guelph police are still seeking information about a motor vehicle which fled the scene following the collision.

Just after 8 p.m. Saturday, two vehicles were travelling northbound on Woolwich Street at a high rate of speed. One of the vehicles collided head-on with a southbound vehicle near Powell Street before colliding with two parked vehicles. A second southbound vehicle swerved to avoid the collision and hit a third parked vehicle.

A 14-year-old female passenger in the first southbound vehicle was transferred to a Hamilton trauma centre with internal injuries.

Two males in the northbound vehicle involved in the collision were arrested for driving and drug charges. The second northbound vehicle did not stop. It is described as a black two-door BMW sedan with under-mounted neon lighting. It is believed to have sustained minor driver-side damage during the incident.

Anyone with information who has not already spoken to police is asked to call Const. Lindsay Porterfield at 519-824-1212, ext. 7182, email her at [email protected], leave an anonymous message for Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS) or leave an anonymous tip online at www.csgw.tips.
