A Guelph man ordered last week to stay out of the downtown was arrested two days later for breaching the condition.
Last Friday, a 19-year-old was charged with causing a disturbance for repeatedly yelling at and threatening staff and patrons downtown. He was released with a condition to stay out of the core. Sunday evening, approximately 7 p.m., police were called to a disturbance at a Suffolk Street residence. Investigation revealed a teenaged female was allegedly punched and struck in the face with a paddle. She did not sustain any injuries.
The suspect was located a short time later at Wyndham Street North and Cork Street East.
He is charged with assault, assault with a weapon and breaching an undertaking. He was held for a bail hearing.
