Three charged after drugs, weapons seized during search warrant

Seized items include fentanyl powder, crystal meth, and a 22 calibre rifle

In late Jan. 2020, the Guelph Police Service Drug Enforcement Unit began a fentanyl trafficking investigation at a residence located in the north end of the City of Guelph.

On Jan. 30, 2020, with the assistance of the Guelph Police Service Tactics and Rescue Unit and High Enforcement Action Team, the target of this investigation, an adult female, was arrested and a search warrant was executed at her residence.

A search of this residence, which is situated directly across from an elementary school, located:
    •    2.38 grams of fentanyl powder
    •    15 prescription opioid pills
    •    0.78 grams of crystal methamphetamine
    •    22 calibre rifle with ammunition
    •    airsoft pistol
    •    stolen bicycle valued at $2,500

A 53-year-old Guelph woman has been charged with:
    •    Possession for the purpose of trafficking
    •    Possession of a controlled substance x2
    •    Unauthorized possession of a firearm
    •    Knowledge of unauthorized possession of a firearm
    •    Careless use of a firearm
    •    Possession of stolen property under $5,000

She was held in custody pending a bail hearing on Jan. 31, 2020.

While the search warrant was being executed, a 26-year-old Sarnia female was located inside the residence. A subsequent investigation revealed there was a warrant out for her arrest from Ontario Provincial Police in Middlesex County in regards to fail to comply with conditions. She was then arrested and transported to the Guelph Police Service station pending OPP Middlesex County taking custody.

Also during the execution of the search warrant, a 31-year-old Guelph female ran out the back of the residence. She was detained and subsequent investigation revealed there was a warrant out for her arrest in regards to the following charges:
    •    Theft under $5,000
    •    Breach probation x2
    •    Fail to re-attend court x3
    •    Fail to comply with recognizance

She was arrested and held in custody pending a bail hearing on Jan. 31, 2020.
