Guelph Police Service responded to 228 calls for service in the past 24 hours

The following news releases were issued today by the Guelph Police Service:

Male arrested on drug charges
On Aug. 7, 2019 at approximately 11:55 a.m., Guelph Police Service Drug Unit arrested a 56-year-old Guelph male in the downtown. He was in possession of several grams of fentanyl and hydromorphone.

He will appear in court today to face charges of breach of probation, trafficking and two counts of possession for the purpose.

Vehicle related crime spree
Sometime overnight on Aug. 7, 2019 a parking garage on Woolwich Street was entered, a 2010 silver Suzuki Grand Vitara was taken, several vehicles were entered and one vehicle sustained damage.
